Red Rock Fencing Center is the proud Corporate Sponsor of the only Venture Crew in the state of Nevada that is solely dedicated to the special interest of fencing. The number of the crew -468- comes from the three most important defensive parries (blocking moves) that are taught in the sport; Parry 4, Parry 6 and Parry 8. Being a Boy Scout means you are prepared and having a good defense in fencing means you are prepared to make a good offense from your defense.

We had our kick off activity manning a booth at the Boy Scout 2007 Expo held at Lorenzi Park in Las Vegas May 5'th and with the demonstration strips up and running we had two strips going from 9 am to 4 pm and a line 20 to 40 people deep waiting to get suited up and give a try at the sport the whole day long. It was non stop fencing!!!

Scouts and Cub Scouts had the time of their lives giving it a try. And we even got a second place ribbon for the best outdoor activity that day! Not bad for our very first activity!

Venture Crews are intended for young men and women 14 - 20 years old to:

1. Have fun, and
2. Introduce their special interest to other younger Scouts and non-Scouts.
